
Deborah (Debbie) Ramamoorthy
Debbie is a storyteller, nutritionist, and community advocate whose work bridges the worlds of media, health, and social justice. With a background in Dietetics and Nutrition as well as Film & Media Production, she is passionate about using creative platforms to uplift marginalized voices and promote inclusive, justice-oriented narratives.
Born into an immigrant family and raised across nine countries, Debbie’s global upbringing fuels her commitment to intersectional advocacy and radical empathy. She has led community initiatives across Latin America, South Asia, and the Middle East, and has collaborated with a range of nonprofits to advance equity and dignity for all people.
Debbie is the founder of a nonprofit focused on safe water programming in Indigenous communities in Ecuador, where she currently lives and works alongside local leaders. Whether in remote villages or on global media stages, she brings a deep awareness of how power, privilege, and systems intersect with faith and well-being.
As a board member of The New Evangelicals, Debbie is honored to contribute her experience and voice toward building inclusive, liberating faith communities rooted in justice and compassion.
