Malynda is a multi-hyphenate content creator, award-winning actress, and singer based in Los Angeles. She uses her voice and platform to drive meaningful conversations around activism, justice, and human rights through digital media and storytelling. Most recently, she starred in the feature film Bull Street alongside Loretta Devine and Amy Madigan and made her directorial debut with the short film Curtain Call, which has screened at film festivals around the world. A respected media commentator, Malynda has appeared on CNN, ABC News Live, Roland Martin Unfiltered, and NPR’s Marketplace Tech, and her written work has been featured in The Daily Beast, Blavity, The Female Lead, and Independent Voter News. She was named one of Wired’s Top Influencers Shaping the 2024 Election and has also been spotlighted by The Los Angeles Times and Good Morning America. Malynda was recently honored as a Hero Against Hate by the Anti-Defamation League. She is the founder of JMV Entertainment, the creator of The Black Voices Heard Project, and an outspoken advocate for social justice, mental health, and inclusive storytelling.
